Overview
For Mastodon’s The Poisonous Weapons Tour, Lighting Designer Eric Price created a layered, high-impact lighting design built to complement the band’s heavy visual aesthetic while integrating tightly with the tour’s large-format video elements. JRLX supplied the complete touring lighting and overhead rigging package, centered around Robe FORTE fixtures for powerful aerial and profile work, with Robe Spiiders providing side light and GLP JDC1s adding high-energy strobe and wash effects. GLP impression X4 Bar 20s were mounted vertically on custom JRLX 2-meter lighting ladders, creating defined columns of light around the stage and video architecture, while Elation SOL I Blinders provided additional audience impact. Control was handled from an ETC Tour Hog, with atmospheric effects provided by a ViCount 5000 touring hazer, creating a compact, scalable system designed for consistent execution throughout the tour.
