Overview
JRLX was proud to support Ignite The Fight, a powerful awareness initiative dedicated to breast cancer research, by transforming two of Chicago’s most iconic river crossings—the Dearborn Street and Clark Street bridges—into vibrant symbols of support and solidarity. Set against the backdrop of the Chicago River, this project required a lighting solution capable of delivering high-impact visuals across large architectural structures in an urban environment.
To achieve this, JRLX deployed Chauvet Rogue R2 Wash fixtures, the fixtures were strategically positioned to evenly wash both bridges in pink hues, creating a unified and highly visible installation that resonated with both pedestrians and river traffic.
Control was handled via a High End Systems Full Boar 4 console, allowing for precise programming and real-time adjustments. Given the logistical challenges of cabling across multiple bridge spans and city infrastructure, JRLX implemented City Theatrical SHoW wireless DMX, ensuring reliable signal distribution while minimizing physical footprint and installation time.
In addition to equipment, JRLX provided full crew support and programming services, managing setup, system integration, and show execution. The team worked closely with event organizers, city officials and the US Coast Guard to ensure seamless operation within tight timelines and public safety requirements.
The result was a striking visual statement that not only enhanced the Chicago skyline but also amplified the message of hope and awareness for breast cancer. Ignite The Fight successfully captured public attention, demonstrating how thoughtful lighting design and technical execution can elevate cause-driven events in complex urban environments.
